- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita parked her car in the enpty spaces. There really wasn't many people around. She hadn't long arrived here in Las Vegas. Of course her father disapproved but heck who cared? Kita pulled down the mirror in her car and applied another layer of lipgloss. Then she got out the car and locked it. There was a bunch of kids running around but they were only annoying, not cute. She sighed, rolled her eyes and ran a hand through her hair to keep it out of her face. She knew the sun wasn't far off setting but oh well. She moved off towards the lake as the sun glittered off of it. See now that was pretty, espcially as it reflected the pink sky above. She smiled a little and then moved off to sit on the lake's egde.
Kita had her bikini on underneath her clothes. She knew that the moment the sun set she would be in that water. It was the way it wasn't as cold. Who cared if it was dirty, it was peaceful and relaxing. She heard car doors shutting and the couple and their kids left the little area. Finally peace and quiet. Kita took off her high heels and put her feet in the water. Part of her missed being at home with her father. He always had a tenancy of spoiling her, it was something she enjoyed more than most. But she never always got what she wanted. She was happy to be a pretty average person. If anything she was a little wealthy but not to the extent of some of the people she had seen around here already. Checking her phone she saw that she had a message off of her dad asking her to call him the moment she landed. Wow that must have ben sent over 3 days ago now. She would call him later on tonight or tomorrow.
Kita put her phone away and glanced around again. The sun was starting to set. The trees around her were putting her in the shade so she shuffled over slightly so she was still in the sun. Kita already had a good tan for someone who lived in England most of her life. But why not see how much more of the lasting sun could give her that little extra. She knew she was starting university soon but that wasn't until either tomorrow or the next day. All depends on the phone call. She ran a hand through her hair again. It wasn't windy today which was encouragement. Kita stood up and took off her top. She placed her one foot in the water again and felt that it was warmer. That was what she had wanted. Always the best time for a swim.
Peeling off her jeans she dived into the water. As she resurfaced it definatly was something. She loved going for swims about this time of the day. She would have to see if she could get a pool installed into her new house. It felt weird knowing she had a house al to herself. She smiled at the thought. She went under water again and swan a little way. Then she moved back towards where her shoes were. As she prepared to get out of the lake she saw someone standing by her shoes. She glanced up...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Josh had a shitty morning, waking up to a apartment full of smoke could do that. His brother had left, of course neglecting to turn off the stove. Typical stoner and their delayed brain actions. Sometimes he really felt like going Chuck Norris on his face, but it was nothing but a thought. Anyways It had given him an excuse to get out and about, being holed up in the smoke stenched apartment would damper a good day. Not that Josh's day started at normal hours, he hadn't even cracked his eyes till 3 that afternoon. The lazy life of a bartender, not that he was complaining. The vampire hours suited him. That was when the most attention grabbing people came out. He spotted the park sign and gave a thumbs up to the anxious and panting beast in the backseat. Pulling up to the park with Bane deciding he would rather bombard the window than wait for Josh's slow ass began digging at the glass. It was a bit of rest and of relaxation before he had to go to the bar and do his shift. Dealing with drunks didn't really cheer him up but it was interesting hearing them talk and their weird ass stories and they all had stories. His dog bounced back from the window landing clear in the front seat, slobbering on everything that came in contact with his wrinkled face. He still was unsure why he picked that breed, they were so ugly and need so much attention but Josh loved imperfections, they made a better personality and that was something his giant wrinkled lacked none of. Within minutes they parked and were out of the car. Josh ran a hand threw the mohawk on top of his head stretching his thin frame out with a small yawn as his blue eyes moved quickly scanning over the few older faces that passed him. He hadn't really expected to see any kids, unless of course they were gang banging 8 year olds and he wasn't in the mood to be beat and robbed by 3rd graders. Though it would be quite the story to tell the grandchildren.
The dog ran directly towards the water where Josh spotted a splash. His first thoughts were 'Oh shit, someone's drowning but as he neared he seen the clothes and shoes laid out. He looked down at the small shoes, no doubt about it, defiantly female. He winced a bit as the dog leaped into the water, though quite a few feet away from where a dark haired girl had surfaced. He took a small step back and patted his hand against his thigh,
"Bane! Sorry about him, he's uhhh.....a spastic kinda guy"
he said smiling lightly patting his legs again trying to get the splashing dog to notice him. He could see it now, his wrinkle would come to the conclusion that he was drowning and them decide the girl would do nicely as a life saving device and attempt to claw his way to the top of her head were he would wait for proper rescue. He still had scars on his arms from the Shar Pei's bad water experiences before. He managed a laugh looking at the animal then back to the girl. The thought hadn't came to him that him and his creature from the lagoon could of been interrupting her alone time, and he himself loved his alone time. He looked to her making a oops face.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kita heard a splash a little futher down from where she was swimming. At first she thought that some of those kids had come back and they had jumped in trying to get lucky with her. Wouldn't that be typical. She glanced down the river to see a dog splashing around. He was cute for his breeding anyway. Kita smiled towards the dog and then looked back to where her shoes were. The boy standing there looked as though he had just woken up. Mine you, night time was hte most active around here. She swan towards the egde of the rver and smiled up at him. He was patting his legs trying to get the dog to pay attention. It wasn't working to well.
Kita listened as he explained about the dog. Bane? Weird name for a dog but what the hell? He said that the dog was a little bit of a spastic. "Oh thats ok. My kitten is just the same. Nothing will ever stop her." Kita said smiling. She could feel the wind starting to kick in and she wanted to be dressed before it got too bad. She pulled herself out of the water and moved towards her clothes. She pulled on her jeans and then glanced up at the guy. She hadn't seen him around yet but she was still new around here. She probably looked like some complete stranger to him.
Kita finished getting dressed and then smiled toward shima nd held out her hand. "Nikita. Everyone normally calls me Kita though" She said with a smal smile. She bent down and picked up her phone and paced it in the back pocket of her jeans. Then she put on her shoes and then stood up. The dog was dripping wet but oh well. Her hair looked pretty much exactly the same. She patted the dog's head and then stood up straight again. This is someone else talking

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A smile traced his lips as she mentioned her kitten. Cats were always crazy, possibly a bit too crazy for his taste. And they never listened, period. Yeah, he'd once been a cat person. Well not totally the truth. He had a cat, damn thing got ran over and that was t. He wiped his hands. He gave a nod as she introduced herself then moved on a bit too quickly for him to shake her hand or tell her his name. His made his eyes wide and watched her bend down then pet his dog. She was moving quickly and he found it amusing. Maybe she was spastic too. He smiled suddenly, this grand ole' town seemed to attract quite the characters, kinda like Cali. There were some strange fellas in every place he ever been. People could be so cookie cutter, others seemed to bend the cut outs and shocked him when they did so. He took a breath glancing her over cocking his head, niceeee
"I'm Josh, but you can call me Joshy. But that'd be kinda weird wouldn't it? Calling me Joshy...anyways, I'm Josh. Gotta work tonight, and my brother caught the stove on fire so the park seemed like the place for me and my wrinkle"
he said as he realized he had no leash for the dog. He looked around expecting someone to hand him one. He made his eyes wide yet again as he looked at the dog who was looking at him. Well what the hell was he waiting for? He reached down scratching behind his odd looking ear. But he continued to look at him, he raised an eyebrow,
"So do you always swim in the dark? Or dusk?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita watched as small smile came across his lips. At least this person was happy to be around animals. It was as though he did what she did. Surround himself with animals so he doesn't feel so lonely. Of course everyone was different. He seemed to be looking at her. Almost as though he was checking her out but she refused to acknowlegde it. It was rude after all and Kita wasn't one to get involved right away. She didn't care what other people thought or did. He was kind of cute though, it was something she couldn't deny. It was as though she might actually find someone who was somewhat interested in her. Of course she wouldn't get her hopes up too high.
Kita smiled and let out a small giggle when he said that she could call him Joshy. She nodded her head when he said it would be a little weird. The smile stayed on her lips and he explained a little about himself. Hmm working in a bar didn't sound half bad. She needed a job as well. She was well off but it would be good to get a job to help out. Of course her dad wouldn't stop sending her money anyway. "Nice to meet you. Does your brother smoke out your apartment all the time cause if thats the case then I think you would be here for a long time and a lot of the time." She said it smiling. She didn't want to offend him. Kita half liked the way he called his dog wrinkle. It was true, that breed wasn't exactly the best of lookers.
Kita looked into his eyes and smiled again. "Are there any spare jobs going where you work? I've just recently come into town and need a job pretty badly." Ok that was a small lie but still, she couldn't just sit around and not do anything. Of course she would prefer to teach but when you have an aunt that is an alcoholic you learn how to pour and mix drinks from an early age. She could definatly come in handy for a bar. She sighed and ran a hand through her wet hair. She needed to dry off a little. Her bathers were making wet patches on her clothes but it was still refreshing, espcially seeing as it was a warm day. She shrugged it off.
Josh asked if she always went swimming in the dark or at dusk. She just shrugged and smiled. "It's the best time. The water feels so warm. You should try it sometime." She said smiling towards him. An old man jogged past the smell coming off joggers was actually slightly repulsive. People's sweat wasn't the nicest stench around. She glanced around the park and saw a couple a little way off. The sun had completly set and it was pretty much dark now. It was ok though because some lights came on a little way away. She could still see Josh perfectly.
